My name is Jackie Hurst and I am a Public Service Specialist at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. I am currently working in the bookmobile outreach department. I get to take cool stuff all over Shawnee County. I present many education programs to elementary students throughout the county through our Library’s Kansas Connections Program. They include: They’re Alive…Living Kansas Symbols, Slithering Snakes, Kansas Animals and Their Habitats, and Animals Endangered!
As you can see all the programs I present have a common theme animals… I LOVE animals and nature! I also present an Amazing Animals program at main for elementary students once a month with my amazing “partner in crime”
Marlana who works in Youth Services at
TSCPL. A fun thing about my job is that it is changing all the time: new programs, new cool stuff for our patrons, new patrons, and new technology. I am very excited about the
23Things because I can experience the different tools, use them and teach others. I have been impressed with the way 23Things has been set up and I am looking forward to the rest of the 22 weeks.
